Say hello to Rod Parsley, McCain’s theocrat and good friend. Watch the video. The Pastor’s sermon is just, oh, so full of love and compassion:
Islam is an anti-Christ religion that intends, through violence, to conquer the world.
The fact is that America was founded — I am going to stagger you right now — America was founded, in part, with the intention of seeing this false religion destroyed.
Muhammad received revelations from demon spirits, not from the living God.
America has historically understood herself as a bastion against Islam in the world.
In fact, I’ll tell you this, I do not believe our nation can truly fulfill her divine purpose, until we understand our historical conflict with Islam.
When it comes to Islam, now the greatest religious enemy of our civilization, its dangerous.
Nice, so on one hand we have a Donkey I personally find too leftist and on the other, an Elephant drifting further and further right, and has an awesome super lovely ’spiritual guide’. Yeah, I kid you not, that’s what McCain called Parsley.
In his campaign for president of the United States, Senator McCain has not only courted Pastor Parsley and called him a “truly great leader of America”, a “moral compass” and a “spiritual guide” but has actually said that he is “honoured” to be in the pastor’s company.
Lovely, but that’s not all.
This is especially troubling in light of the fact that Parsley is a self-proclaimed Christocrat, promoting Christian theocracy in America, who believes that the US is guided by a “divine purpose”.
In other words, Parsley’s petulant stupidity isn’t the problem. The issue is Senator McCain’s lack of moral clarity and his failure to renounce, denounce and reject someone who violates not only the principles of pluralism and decency, but also something far more sacrosanct: the very clear demarcation between church and state in the US.
John McCain may want to keep himself away from the company of such sweet people. Obama ended up doing the right thing and gave Wright a verbal knock on his head. McCain should look into a similar move too.
Give me a Joel Osteen on any given day. Great guy, but Rod Parsley? No thanks. That’s precisely the kind of ‘religion’ that should stay away as far as possible from the political sphere. It’s bad enough having similar rhetoric over here on our side from lunatic religious Muslim figures and so-called leaders. We don’t need more shouted from the other, let alone coming from such a person closely associated to a man who might become the next American president in just a few months.
Forgive me for the current lack of better words, but let’s just say the US presidential race might unfortunately be turning into shit and shittier. On the bright side, at least Hillary Clinton is almost finished.

Thanks for posting this buy where are the arabs form all this, I haven’t seen any leader headign to the US to meet with any of the candidates, we always start late unlike the American Jewish Organization
It’s good that we already know how unimportant a live-long mentor and spiritual guide really is. Otherwise we should be worried.
No, seriously, dude…
You know me, I am as neo-con as they come. But I totally agree with you on that guy (and disagree with him).
I find it weird that McCain would have a friend like that and see him as a reason not to vote McCain. In fact, if I were an American voter and had to decide between McCain and Hillary, that would make me vote Hillary. As it stands, were I a voter, I would have to decide between two men with evil mentors. And in that race the mentors cancel each other out and the number of terrorist connections begin to count (lower is better).
Incidentally, while I too believe that the US has a “divine purpose”, I don’t believe that purpose has much to do with Christianity as such (and fundamentalist Christianity at all).
When it comes to America’s mission of fighting Islam, it should be noted that the Kingdom of Morocco is the US’ oldest and a most reliable ally and that America’s typical enemies were Christian states.
And that doesn’t even touch on the subject that the terrorists are certainly not following Islamic law that strictly, to say the least.
And on that subject…
While I believe that Obama will make many bad decisions, I do not believe that he will give Israel up and allow the Arabs to invade (again) and kill the Jews (like they tried so often).
If Arab organisations talk to him, it better be about cultural exchange rather than the need to destroy Israel or weaken her defences. I believe he will be very open to the first, but cannot afford to compromise on the second.
As for cultural exchange, what do you guys think of a Christian university in Saudi Arabia and a Muslim university in the US?
“You know me, I am as neo-con as they come. But I totally agree with you on that guy (and disagree with him).”
That’s because your understanding of Islam is very decent unlike that of most neo-cons. In fact it’s better than that of many Muslims too.
“As for cultural exchange, what do you guys think of a Christian university in Saudi Arabia and a Muslim university in the US?”
Yeah, maybe in like 50-100 years!
Thing is…
Earlier on during the race I actually had my eyes on McCain. He came across as the tough yet compassionate moderate. I also knew that I certainly did not want Rudy Giuliani in the White House. McCain was the most appealing out of all candidates on both sides. John Edwards was considered too. Obama never even came to mind initially. I thought he was just a good speaker and nothing much more really but hey after closer inspection and all the recent events, I’m now behind Barack Obama (although not as full-heartedly as I’d like to be). Like you, some of his stances worry me but I now prefer him over John McCain.
Obama for President!
“Yeah, maybe in like 50-100 years!”
I know, I know. That’s why I didn’t even ask for a Jewish university. (Although I believe that Morocco could have one, if the Jewish population was still big enough.)
“Obama for President!”
It still baffles me why anybody would support him? I agree that the arguments against him are not as strong as many claim. But I simply cannot see anything working in his favour.
To this infidel European , this guy comes across just as loony as the “mad mullahs” of the ME. Only difference is his followers don’t brandish AK47’s and dynamite belts.
When will they ever learn ? God does NOT take sides in politics. If He did it wouldn’t be such a mess.
Andrew “why anybody would support him” ? two words: lesser evil.
“two words: lesser evil.”
Compared to Hillary? Perhaps.
Compared to McCain? I don’t think so.
Obama does not only have a racist cleric going against him; he also has a number of staff members who are friends with terrorists and good relations with other racists (like Farrakhan).
Plus he doesn’t seem to have a plan. He just demands “change”, but apart from telling us that he intends to remove the American troops from Iraq (i.e. the only thing that stands between Sunni and Shia extremists), he has not told us much about what that “change” would be like.
