Determined Against the Odds

Again, it’s one of those pictures that evoke such conflicting emotions.

Then I realized that this kid has the luxury of sitting on actual pavement
2 Lynn 01.12.08 at 4:19 pm: I don’t know. I see productivity. The kid gets to go to school and he gets to help his parents while also getting his homework done. The kid has clothes to wear and doesn’t seem under nourished. As long as he and any money he collects is safe I don’t see a problem. Now, show me some sweatshop pictures of mal nourished kids who DON’T even get an opportunity to dream about school or full bellies and you’ll get some serious emotions out of me. Oh yeah, don’t get me started on the poor kids having to be soldiers in those African wars. This kid here has it made compared to a LOT of kids in this world.
