Belief and logic are two different fields. Some think that logical thought is the only way to live.
Me, I’m not that much of a machine yet.
Awesome! And no, it is far too stretched for me to just believe things because someone says it’s true. It’s logic and physics all the way for this cat. In other words, I’d much sooner believe that I am God than that there is a God. If that makes sense
:^)
I am a great fan of Dilbert, but somehow, I think I would rather learn philosophy of religion from Douglas Adams (RIP), than from Scott Adams …
Seriously. His argument is nice and all but there are just too many flaws. I’d point it out but I’m paralyzed by my laziness and general apathy.
Some folks who responded there did a pretty good job though.
I’m not an Atheist, but I can appreciate some Atheist beliefs. I’m more leaning towards the Agnostic, just don’t care, side.
I’m an atheist. Can I disprove God, no, unless you give a few characteristics to work with, I might be able to disprove your God.
As an atheist, I find zero evidence that God exists, so my stance is why consider his/her/its existence.
If I said that there was an invisible man under my bed, could you disprove the invisible man’s existence? Should you accept the possibility that he exists?
No atheists can say that God doesn’t exist 100% for sure, just like you can’t say that there isn’t an invisible man under my bed 100% for sure.
But to me, both have the same odds as being true.
