    Definitely it seems that more attention could have been placed upon the unfolding situation in Darfur.

    Drima: thanks for bringing me another great blog from the Sudan. I was not aware that the AU’s funds had run dry and that as such they have run into difficulty funding the military intervention in Darfur.

    In the immediate term, I was glad to see that al-Bashir has granted the UN force permission to join in the intervention. But do you think that the installing of Ghana’s President Kufour as the head of the African Union will change the fortunes of the AU, so that they may not need to rely upon the UN force in times of future crisis?
