Alright so yesterday a friend came up to me and told me something along the following lines: “ey yo man, did you know that the filthy Christian British architects who designed Burj Al-Arab secretly included a Cross in the building’s design? After the project was finished and the architects got paid all their money, one of them broke out the secret about their dirty accomplishment, the biggest Christian Cross in the Muslim world. Can you believe this crap? This is a freaking insult to Muslims!”… Oh well, so I did a little research and behold! I present to you the biggest Christian Cross in the Muslim World:

This story is told back-to-back with another one which says that apparently any cars registered in Dubai, that have one of the older licence plates which have an image of the Burj Al Arab on them, aren’t allowed to drive into Saudi Arabia.
We haven’t been able to confirm the veracity of either story, but they contribute to the legend of Dubai!

It really is a stunning building and the folks of Dubai should be proud of it. Maybe one of the great manmade landmarks of the world, it is certainly the tallest operating hotel in the world.
A picture at this site which shows the building from a different angle leaves no doubt it is a sailing ship. Just beautiful. Why on earth do so many Arabs see put downs and misery at every opportunity. Why not instead see a remarkable building from a part of the world demonised so often as anti-modern. The architects did well, but so did Dubai for commissioning approving and building it.

I say, who gives a shit? The majority of Dubai are now probably Christians anyways. This isn’t a place for Arabs if you notice, it is run by foreign investors and top-notch Arab businessmen who couldn’t care less about these things as long as it shows them the money.
There is hardly anything specifically ‘Arab’ in Dubai these days, it’s very artificial. Even if it was intended to be a cross, it doesn’t matter. I say what’s sick about Dubai is not only the fact that the culture was completely replaced by an overwhelmingly Westernized one, but that slavery still exists on a pretty large scale and so does human trafficking.

I agree that Burj Al Arab looks dazzling from the outside but I don’t like how it looks inside(it’s comparatively small.There are better-looking & spacious hotels).The only thing that you don’t see everyday in a hotel is the golden taps, stair rails..etc & the aquarium.The view is incredible too.By and large, I think it is a waste of money that couldve been put to better use.But then again, Dubai is all about the ” bling-bling”.

All I have to say is, that The “dreaded cross” is a part of a sailing mast… it belongs there. As far as I see, the architect has played with colors, so not to make this cross too apparent, actually following it, it resembles a giant “T” the upper part of the cross was made translucent, probably to not resemble a cross completely.
OK, if its so abusing, they should play with the colors a little bit, and that cross will be undistinguishable.

Another hadith goes on to say that Muhammad ended up dying before this particular girl reached marriage age, to which the by now vexed priest, unable to contain himself, exclaimed, “Awwww! Poor prophet! He missed one!”
Botros then told viewers to keep this last hadith in mind, for “context,” as he read another hadith from the Sunan of Bin Said, which records Muhammad saying “I hugged so-and-so when she was a child and found that I greatly desired her.”
“What prophet is this you follow?!” cried the outraged Coptic priest. “Where is his morality? This is the man that Muslims follow slavishly? Use your minds!”
It was late in the night, yet Fr Botros was not done cataloging his findings regarding the prophet’s “sexual” habits (these shows are an hour and a half long). So, when he moved on to a hadith depicting Muhammad lying next to a dead woman in her grave, as well as pointing to hadith categories called “intercourse with a dead woman,” I happily turned off the satellite and called it a night—till this moment, as I am (somewhat reluctantly) revisiting my notes to prepare this report.

hey- i didn’t read all the comments - but my suggestion for the arab (intelligents)
study how Dr.Mahthir Mohamed Made the architecture of the petronas tower- he was analyze every single floor- and every single room designs and faces. But he is not architecture or designer but he was in very accurate on what he was doing. Don’t Just trust everyone, Trust People if they have good heart, it has to be good in rich and poor- ( so far that is exist only in the People who really practice a religion faithfully, and their religion it self taught them the sincerity. An obvious understanding, a good religious practicing person will never try to preach the religion in hidden way, or show the religion is great by cheating on their job. According to my religion, no matter what it is, he has to be honest on his/her work. we trust in GOD, even the boss/manager is not watching us- we work sincere because, we believe GOD is watching us. acctually, we cant expect from any other people, because I never seen so far that practice and loyal in any other religion. Dubai Administration can make a plan like this - just break the horizontal thing on the building - we dont want to be fool just to collapse the entire building, and it will take another 10 years to build such one and that time, the market will loose -

Well, I am not from UAE. But I kinda suspect that the symbol looks like a cross. It is not Anti-Muslim anyway. But it represents the greatest love of God and His perfect holiness. I put my trust in Jesus who paid for my sins on the cross and i am forgiven. I will live eternally with God because of Jesus’ cross and I invite you all to put your trust in Jesus. The architect might never have intended it. But now all the people of the world has a chance
There is nothing like that if we make the issue of symbol , its better to avoid it .
History has a reason and that reason is Jesus Christ. It is moving to a climax when “time shall be no more.” A time is coming when “every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Phil 2:10-11).
You may call Christians dirty, never mind, we Charistians forgive you and love you. But keep it in mind; untill you believe the works of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of calvery (His death for the sins of the mankind) there will be no peace in the Islamic world. There will be suffering and bood shed, tormentation and pain, dosent matter how hard you greet in the name of peace (Salaam a lekum). Peace is faaaaaaaar from reality. Jesus is Lord, God and the true Savior of the world and He is the only way, there is no way other than Jesus Christ to the father.
