I find it utterly fantastic that Ahmaninejad and his like are enamored by Hitlerite anti-Semitic politicies. For, in the end, Hitler espoused the extermination of all non-”Aryan” people, including Iranians and Arabs (their skin tones would never pass muster as “Aryan”, which was less a historical term, and more a Hitlerite concept). In fact, Hitler espoused the extermination of all Slavs as well, blonde as they may be. Swedes, Finns, the French, Hungarians, Italians, etc., might well have followed. This is not the role model for Muslims to emulate, unless they want to reinforce the notion that Islam is just another form of totalitarian imperialism: an interpretation just waiting in the wings to fly forth.
Kudos to Khatami, to inject a little bit of level-headed thinking into Iranian political discourse, futile as it may be.
Khatami sounds sane, which is something that is solerly missed in Iranian politics. But no worries, give it time. They’ll end up placing him under permanent house arrest to shut him up, just like they did with that liberal-minded relative of the Grand Ayatollah.

Yup, Ahmadinejad has mental issues. I don’t know much about Khatami but he sure does sound wiser.
