Yaaaaaaaaay!

by Drima on December 9, 2006

I got nominated for the 2006 Weblog Awards! Thanks for those who gave me the heads up. I had no idea at all. Vote for me here. I don’t expect to win but I would like to remain in the top 5 out of the 10 that got nominated. Oh and I just watched watched the video of Sudanese activist Taraji Mustafa. She’s even featured on LGF. I blogged about her a month ago after I read an Arabic article about what she said. But now with THIS video. WOW, I have more to say. Blogging to resume in a few hours.

UPDATE: Heh. I just checked my previous post on Taraji and there are comments by people who think that I am Taraji Mustafa.

Congrats on the nomination, man. :)
As for Taraji, I read an article about her just yesterday. It was an interesting read, to say the least!

Hey Drima, I voted for you coz I think you’ve definitely earned it.

Hope you win.

Tsedek-

Try going to the main page of the Jpost:

http://www.jpost.com/

Scroll down and you should see the article “I Can’t go Back” by Asaf Dror.
Click on that and then go to the END of the article where it says “post comment / “terms”…click on post comment and you are in.

Since this is motez’ay shabbat I don’t think your comment will show until machar b’boker.

13 howie 12.09.06 at 10:16 pm

Tsekek–

You see what I mean about Sefaradim!!!! That’s exactly why they don’t want you in nightclubs!

Ain li musag???? Tsarech la’avod

14 tsedek 12.09.06 at 10:23 pm

Howie: todah rabba - shoukran - gracias :D

15 Roman Kalik 12.09.06 at 10:53 pm

Tse, are you using Explorer or Firefox? Firefox is good, but not all sites are built with it in mind.

As for Java, it’s very unlikely.

The only other option I can think of is pop-up blockers. If you have one, turn it off and then try to open the comments. If you’re not sure how, tell me what browser you have and I’ll try to help in about ten hours.

And now, I must sleep.

Tsedek-

Yes works fine for me from ANY computer. You know…I am Ashkanaz. Probably this is another one of those conspiracies we have against keeping our dark skinned brotha’s down. ;)

Roman Kalik, I’ve tried with disabling my internet security alltogether with Firefox as well as with IE - and still nothing happens, although with IE in the statusbalk down of the screen it says “error on page” :(

(I also cannot see the music the Iraqi Konfused Kid has put on clip on ak.blip.tv while all other visitors there can :( )

Yep, Howie - I’m sure this is a human rights issue, I’ll contact one or other organization asap :D

Drima, sorry for hijacking your topic, sweetie :D

Tse, first and foremost: http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp

The Java Runtime Environment. Download it, install it, and see if it helps.

As for viewing the comments, clicking on the ‘talkback’ button on the upper left part of the comments opened a pop-up for me. See if you have a pop-up blocker lited in Explorer under Tools. If not, then it isn’t the problem. I think.

Now that I’ve had a look at the page source, I take back my previous words regarding Java. Hopefully the JRE will help with this page and and a few other problems you may have had.

19 tsedek 12.10.06 at 11:36 am

Thx, Howie :D
First when I clicked it, nothing happened: “Firefox is protecting your pc from installing this application” :D I tried IE, nothing happened as well. Then, I clicked “verify installation” which turned out to tell me:

“CONGRATULATIONS, you have the Latest version of Java!”

So, I suppose that the 1.5.0_9 b-03 version is what was meant?

I then tried to open the JP talkback as you instructed with and without ‘internet security’ and nothing happened, I checked ‘tools’ and pop-up blocker: it’s turned off….

I’m getting desparate :(

20 Hipster 12.10.06 at 12:41 pm

Drims, I voted for you:)

Mad props & respect.

21 Roman Kalik 12.10.06 at 1:36 pm

I’m no longer sure what to do, Tse. You seem to have installed the Java Runtime Environment…

Try restarting the computer, maybe?

22 Roman Kalik 12.10.06 at 1:37 pm

Or try the following: http://jdl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=10778

Offline installation. Just download and run. Heck, if this doesn’t work I don’t know what will.

23 Drima 12.10.06 at 4:28 pm

Tse, LOL you’re just like my dad. He so “loves” computers and no matter how many classes I give him he keeps forgetting. Hmmm… Why don’t you check if you have Flash installed?

Dun worry about hijacking the comments section :)

24 tsedek 12.10.06 at 8:11 pm

Howie, I’ve done that, but ….. :( No result.
Drima, I’ve downloaded Adobe Flash player and…. (you guess it right) no result….

My pc is cursed :s

25 Roman Kalik 12.10.06 at 8:37 pm

Tse, the name’s Roman. Us whiteys all look alike to ya, eh? ;)

26 Roman Kalik 12.10.06 at 8:42 pm

Oh, and I agree about the curse thing.

27 tsedek 12.11.06 at 12:09 am

Ow, I’m so sorry, Roman *blush:*
