New Iraq Strategy Needed

I’m glad pressure is being stepped up on Bush from within the Republican party to do more about the worsening condition in Iraq. Told be told, Iraqi leaders aren’t doing a good job either. Anyways, Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska said something that really caught my attention:

“The American people are not going to continue to support, sustain a policy that puts American troops in the middle of a civil war,” Hagel said on CNN’s “Late Edition.”

He called what’s happening a civil war. Everytime Bush gets asked about that one, he refuses to admit what’s happening in Iraq is a civil war. Maybe behind closed doors he’s admiting it and scratching his head in worry.

See what Healing Iraq has to say about the situation in his country. It’s freaky, very depressing and disgusting. Big Pharaoh also makes a more disgusting observation about the death threat letters from Sunnis to Shias and vice versa.

The most bizzare thing about these letter is that they all start with “In the name of God the merciful the compasionate”!

Ya, I know, as if Allah is going to be happy with them. You all know how hard I try to keep myself from cursing on this blog but I swear to God, even if I started to, no words in the “street English dictionary” will be deserving enough for describing the FUBAR filthy sub-human animals killing each other and innocent people in Iraq.

Hey, it seems you have fixed your site; I now can easily open it. I hope, I can post this comment too.

No one in the Whitehouse is that stupid, not to realise now - that it was a big mistake to have gone in to Iraq using force; they are regretting now. They will regret even more, with time. Unfortunately, and very sadly - the Iraqis are enormously suffering and dying in large numbers, with time. Even a bigger problem now: how does any one solve Iraq? Now?

You’re right Barsawad, this was a big mistake (not Afghanistan though)… I was against this war and I still am in some ways but I now support US troop presence there. I think US troops withdrawing now will cause a major disaster for sure and the civil war will worsen greatly. I wish both the Iraqis and Americans good luck in fixing Iraq. The violence needs to stop.

“Even a bigger problem now: how does any one solve Iraq? Now?”

I have NO idea. Allah yistor o yihawin.

    Drima,
My good friend. I was recently hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital due to severe depression but when I hear about the situation in IRAQ I have to question who the truly insane really are.

Hey ratedrsuperstar, good to have you back bro. I was wondering where you disappeared. I hope you’re much feeling better now. And yes, there are some very insane people in Iraq. Sigh! :(

    Drima,
Thanks for your concern. Unfortunately, I have been dealing with depression for many years. It is a disease like any other and often ,if left untreated or mistreated, it can lead to devastating ends. Much of my depression I attribute to a natural melancholy state and an obsession with keeping abreast with world affairs(it is hard indeed to maintain a cheery disposition when reading about Iran,SUDAN, North Korea and so forth). I am doing pretty well now. I am on some good medication that is doing the trick even if I have to sacrifice caffeine in the process(no more 6 coca-colas a day for me sigh lol). Three weeks in a hospital can put things into perspective. Being powerless and simultaneously angry at the state of the world is a dead end street. I have regained my interest in writing as well and am currently back to working on my 3rd unpublished novel(other 2 are in abeyance for now). I am also looking into enhancing my career with further schooling. I suspect you’ll see me ‘chime’ in from time to time with my 2 cents(overcharging as it lol) at your blog. Take care
