Maggie at Hyscience has a great post that made my day. It’s 2 days old but who cares. Read it if you haven’t. Iraqi tribes unite to drive out al-Qaeda. Yaaaay! I have a question though. Why the hell isn’t this getting any major coverage in the MSM?

Because it’s not part of the US fights Iraqis storyline?
There is a larger audience for “US vs Iraq” then there is for “US and Iraq vs terrorists”.
Many vocal people in the west (and presumably the Arab world) believe that the violence in Iraq would stop if America stopped participating.
In fact, here in Ireland the same lunatics have concluded that US bombing raids from Ireland are the cause of deaths in Iraq and they are protesting to stop them (whatever that means).
I wish the Iraqis the best of luck in their fight against the terrorists!
For some reason when there is death and poverty in the world, many people think “America” is the cause. Terrorists bombing mosques and dictators slaughtering hundreds of thousands are never a part of it.
On a related note… who here thinks that there will be ANY protests against Russia’s plans to attack Georgia?
Also do not forget that this will make Bush look good, or at least hinder somewhat the demonization process. Ergo, no MSM coverage.
