Bye Bye Darfur, Hello M.E. Madness!

Shouting out that WW3 might be about to start is not a childish overstatement especially when you examine the current Israel, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Iran madness closely. Something interesting but not surprising always happens when I visit other blogs with posts about Israel or Palestine. All posts with nothing about the Pali/Israeli conflict get almost completely ignored while any ones with the words “Palestine”, “Hamas”, “Israel” or “Zionism” get bombarded with tons of comments. Sweet! Bye bye Darfur. Almost all the attention is about to turn to Israel. Bashir must be glad I guess. He’ll obviously continue blaming the Joooooz for all the problems facing Darfurians. It’s obviously retarded but hey let’s look at it without being blinded by “anti-Zionist” anger. When the Zionists are accused of being behind an agenda in Darfur many people end up believing such things. When the US is accused of being biased towards Israel, it also is true in one way or another. I mean hey let’s look at Egypt.
The US loves to rant about how it wants to spread democracy in the world but when America’s close friend “Mubarak dominated” Egypt smacks the living crap out of democracy supporters and reformers, America simply gives a slap on the hand to Egypt and better even approves $2 billion worth of aid from American tax payers’ money. America doesn’t really want democracy in Egypt because if true and fair elections were held the Muslim Brotherhood will win without a doubt and the peace between Israel and Egypt will be most probably be bye bye. America only wants democracy when the results are in accordance with its interests. That’s a serious and glaring double standard especially when the war in Iraq is fought under the pretext of spreading democracy. Well hey can you blame a superpower for wanting to remain a superpower?!
Anyways here comes THE question… Is true democracy more important than peace and stability or is it the other way around??! As innocents are dying in the ME so are the ones in Darfur. Bashir blames the Joooz and many rally behind him. Blame them now and he’ll probably have triple the amount of people rally behind him. Poor Palestinians got fed up of corrupted Fatah and elected Hamas as a hopefully better alternative but the opposite happened. Hamas brought disaster. I hate seeing Israel’s campaign of collective punishment but on the other hand after following the news closely I really don’t think Hamas or Hezbollah want peace with Israel. I think they really do want to wipe it off the map. Damn it! Hamas is now backed by Hezbollah which in turn is backed by Syria which is in turn backed by “pain inflicting capable” Iran. Sudan is allied with Iran by the way. It’s just a stupid move meant to be like “hey America take the finger wohooo, we’re with Iran whom we know already has nuclear missiles… Yaay”. Jihad is always the supreme option.
Now hey I’m not going to try and be an Islamic guru but please answer this question fanatic supporters of regimes in Syria and Iran. Which jihad is better, wiping a country that already exists whether we like it or not from the map or waging a jihad against so called Islamic dictatorial regimes that care nothing for the population, holds it back while other countries move forward with building a better infrastructure with clean water, education, healthcare, a just legal system and so on? Whic jihad is better?? Listen up Muslim supporters of this madness, I’m a Muslim myself and I believe in miracles okay but I prefer being realistic. I hope you start thinking the same way too. As far as I’m concerned I believe the Palestinians are oppressed and living in harsh conditions and that Israel is an illegal occupier. However I hate seeing the stupid actions of Hamas and Hezbollah that leave no room for peace and bring disaster for the people. My heart goes out to the Israelis and Palestinians, both victims of their leaders in my opinion. Meanwhile I’m also sad for the people in Darfur as I know the current M.E. madness will overshadow them. I won’t forget them though or those still living in pain after the Asian tsunami and earthquakes in Pakistan and Indonesia.
Ah me and my stupid fantasies of a peacefull world full of love and tolerance. Let’s all blast our ourselves into oblivion shall we?! Get ready for a war spanning from Iran all the way to Israel. Include North Korea in the list too.
UPDATE: I thought I should include a link to this wonderfull yet depressing post from Rambling Hal. She’s right.
My grandparents never lived in complete peace in their lifetimes. Neither have my parents. Neither will I. And it goes on. When was the world ever completely at peace?
NEVER… Yes? No?

Hello Drima, thought you might be interested to see this copy of a SANA news report July 13, 2006:
President Omar Hasan al-Basher of Sudan criticized Thursday the international community silence over Israeli violations in Palestine and Lebanon.
Al-Basher, speaking at an assembly of more than 10 thousand youths from National Conference in Khartoum, considered “the war in Palestine, South Lebanon and Darfur as one war”, renewing rejection of any foreign interference in the Sudanese province of Darfur.
Meanwhile, Russian former Premier Yevgeny Primakov announced that the Israeli attack in Lebanon is an uncovered aggression and a real war.
Primakov, speaking to the Russian NTV Channel, warned against escalation of Israeli offensive, saying that there is no way out of this situation except by negotiations and “if Israel rejects negotiations, it will hold responsibility for that.”

Thanx Ingrid, I know I’ve seen that report. I just watched a clip of it on Al Jazeera like 15 minutes ago. It was hilarious and retarded at the same time to include the war in Darfur with the one in Palestine. I’m so sick and tired of the stupid attitude of taking everything and blaming it all on the Joooooooooz. Obviously as the situation in Palestine escalates so will the support for Bashir. Believe me that’s how it works where I come from. Egyptians hate Mubarak a lot for example but if today he attacked Israel all the hatred for him will turn into nothing but love and admiration. Bashir is trying to cover his dirty deeds by blaming it ALL on the Jooooz… Stupid indeed but in a way I don’t mind it. At least opposition to the UN troops will grow and hopefully retards in UN will finally realize that strengthening the AU troops and backing them is the best option.
My friend’s enemy is my enemy;
but the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
You got that right Aimster! It’s politics, it’s dirty but most importantly it’s reality.
“Israel is an illegal occupier.”
There is nothing illegal about occupying territories won in a war started by the other side.
I have lived in such an occupied territory myself for half my life.
Andrew, fine I’ll let that slide but what about all the other points I bring up…
“America only wants democracy when the results are in accordance with its interests.”
Is that democractic?
and
“Is true democracy more important than peace and stability or is it the other way around??!”
Why is the US so biased when it comes to Israel? If Israel wants to defend herself fine but why use such a disproportionate amount of force and why employ the stupid tactic of collective punishment. By doing that Israel is alienating the only people in Lebanon and Palestine who actually want to live side by side and in peace with Israel.
Hi Drima,
Anyways here comes THE question… Is true democracy more important than peace and stability or is it the other way around??!
No. Democracy is not more important than peace and stabilty. But I think that’s a false argument, when it comes to the middle-east. There hasn’t been peace and stabilty in the middle-east, these last 60 years.
Why is the US so biased when it comes to Israel?
The US is biased in favor of the US. The US is at war with terrorists, and has been for 5 years. Israel is also at war with terrorists. Israel is our ally. If other countries in the middle-east wish to be allies of the United States, I’m all for that. But if they want to be considered as US allies, they need to stop acting like enemies, no?
You don’t really expect the US to treat enemies as if they were friends, do you?
If Israel wants to defend herself fine but why use such a disproportionate amount of force and why employ the stupid tactic of collective punishment.
I’ll let Israeli commenters respond to that, but I consider both of those claims to be invalid talking-points. Nothing more.
By doing that Israel is alienating the only people in Lebanon and Palestine who actually want to live side by side and in peace with Israel.
Are there any such people? I’ve been reading Lebanese blogs for a while and I’ve seen the continued existance of Israel used as a justification for the continued existance of Hezbollah, on quite a number of occassions. Lebanese wanted Hezbollah around to “defend” them from Israel. Now Hezbollah has gotten Lebanon into a war with Israel. Whose fault is that, Drima?
I can provide a list of about 20 Palestinian blogs I’ve read in the last 6 months or so. None of those bloggers is the least bit interested in peace with Israel. They want (all of them do) Israel, destroyed. period.
If people want peace with Israel, they should demonstrate that by ending the attacks on Israel. Right? How many attacks through terror proxies does Israel have to suffer before they are justified in retaliating?
What other country would take attacks day after day from it’s neighbors?
“”America only wants democracy when the results are in accordance with its interests.”
Is that democractic?”
no, It’s foreign policy. Democracy got nothing to do with it.
The question depends on your definitions of “true democracy” and “peace and stability”.
I consider freedom the most important value… Guess it’s because I know what it’s like not to have it.
Sorry I gave you a “Jewish” answer to your question (i.e. did not answer)
Drima - I think you’re confusing democracy with angelism, bro
Democracy means the freedom to rule yourself through elections, the freedom to express yourself and assorted other freedoms.
It doesn’t mean trying to make everyone else democratic. That’s sort of an added bonus - it’s usually done in the belief that democractic countries are less likely to attack each other and be generally nasty.
Well, the West is not the Middle East. People in the West tend to view peace, freedom and prosperity as prime priorities… and they just fail to understand that for most of the people in the Middle East it’s just not so.
And as for your assorted erroneous points… whew. I don’t have the time to address them right now as my laptop is about to run out of power and there are too many helicopters flying above my head to concentrate properly. So I’ll just copy and past something that I posted on SM’s blog, and hope that you can see how it applies to other cases:
Look, it’s simple, people… Israel ( a sovereign nation-state) has been attacked without warning from Lebanon (also a sovereign nation-state). The perpetrators are a leading party in Lebanon. Israel is destroying Hizballah’s strongholds and trying to cut off the means of smuggling kidnapped Israelis to Iran. Moreover, Israel is obviously acting with great care - there are less than a 100 casualties on the Lebanese side. Had Israel reacted with the needed force to stop the attacks on its territory (the North of Israel is being both evacuated and constantly hit, I can hear the explosions all the time), there would be hundreds of thousands of casualties until now - because that have meant levelling the Southern parts of Lebanon for 60 KM (the announced range of Hizballah’s weapons), destroying ALL the communication, water, electricity and transportation infrastructure which Hizballah might use and then going in with ground forces - which would be moving on smoking, blackened ground cleaned up by the airforce.
Please note that this is not what Israel is doing, even though it was attacked by another sovereign state.
I am amazed that anyone would even think to fault Israel with EXCESSIVE use of force, when it has actually been acting - as usual - with superlative, possibly exessive restraint.
What the hell is wrong with you, people? If your country was suddenly attacked with massive rocket barrages how do you think it would react?
Bleah. It seems to be a “forces of reason vs the forces of unreason” here. Or is it just same old jolly genocidal anti-semitism which so endeared Hitler to the people?
Peace out, and he’re to hoping we’ll all live to see another day. Unless Nasrallah and his merry men are reading this - they are exempt from this hope.
Hey Raccoon, believe me I’m not one of those who want Israel to be destroyed and erased off the map because we all know wiping it off the map means a few million Israelis will be bye bye. That includes you my cyber friend. I wouldn’t want that to happen. Stay safe bro and let’s hope this madness stops.
Drima,
My buddy i have to ask quite clearly. What is the west to do ever?? if we get involved we get accused of meddling in Arab Affairs. If we don’t then we are accused of turning a blind eye to the suffering of Arabs. No matter what we are hated so why should we give a @#$#$%. Frankly I am fed up with all this nonsense on both sides. I am Pro-Israel absolutely but by their reaction to the recent events of Hamas and Hesbollah they are playing the game exactly the way the Islamic radicals wanted. Don’t get me going about the kidnappings that started this either. Sorry I am just so pissed by this
Ok here’s my solution to the whole israeli palestinian crisis. Take all the Israelis and Palestinians out..move them somewhere 500 miles away temporarily and then nuke the living #$%^& out of the land. Afterwards, whoever wants it bad enough can have it
ratedrsuperstar -
Do that, and you’ll have hundreds of thousands of Jewish scientists looking for a solution to radiation. Within 20 years they’ll find it. Then Jews will return to Israel for the Nth time, rebuilt it and make it bloom once again.
And then Arabs/Muslims will continue to try and destroy Israel and kill all the Jews.
So why bother? It’s a waste of time and money. The only good thing to come out of your proposition would be the solution to radiation contamination
Hey, you can rap my last sentence. S’cool
BTW, I just returned from the North because the hill next to the one I was staying on was shelled. Lots of excitement and air raid sirens all over the place. 17 wounded according to preliminary reports, lots of damage to property, much hysteria among the young who do not rememeber how it goes and the immigrants who never experiened it. Reminds me of the jolly good times of previous wars.
*spits*
Drima - I know you don’t want me dead or my country destroyed, dude… I was merely trying to highlight the incredible restraint of the Israeli response.
“Why is the US so biased when it comes to Israel?”
I am biased when it comes to my friends. And when my friends’ enemies also attack me, I am not neutral. I will be more biased.
“If Israel wants to defend herself fine but why use such a disproportionate amount of force and why employ the stupid tactic of collective punishment.”
Israel has to lose only once. Once. If Israel loses once, all the middle-eastern Jews (and Israeli Arabs and Druze perhaps) will die a horrible death. Any time Israel plays it nice, Israel risks millions of deaths. That is what Israel has learned in the past.
I don’t like it when Lebanese (non-Hizbullah) die. But to be honest, I don’t care very much. Lebanon COULD have disarmed Hizbullah and didn’t, because it would have meant civil war. Now they learn that not disarming Hizbullah gives them the same results.
It’s tragic, but it’s not Israel’s concern. Lebanon had a choice, Israel did not.
“By doing that Israel is alienating the only people in Lebanon and Palestine who actually want to live side by side and in peace with Israel.”
They have the choice again. They are just experiencing what standing behind Hizbullah (or not acting against them) brought them. But it’s still time. Tell the Lebanese army to attack Hizbullah. I bet Israel will join their attack and leave the rest of Lebanon alone.
Maybe that is the plan?
Fucking Israelis burn in hell!!!!!
After you, Anynmous (aka ‘Coward’).
Pfeh.
So confused… Feeling anger boiling up right now: Haifa being attacked at this very moment, but so sad also for other innocent people who are in the rat-trap right now in Lebanon.
Why doesn’t the IDF take out the launching points of the hizb i/o bombing universities for crying out loud????
Tse.
“Fucking Israelis burn in hell!!!!!”
They won’t.
But the part of Satan will, the lot of them.
The Qur’an clearly says that Israel belongs to the Jews. What do you think will happen to those who call themselves Muslims and doubt the Qur’an?
I’m afraid your hell will have to cope without Israelis.
May God have mercy on all of us for we kill in his name and then blame each other. Man is weak and so makes his own hell.
I pray for the Jews and I pray for the Muslims and I pray that they can see how they are creating the beginning of the end of the world.
I pray for us ALL.
“May God have mercy on all of us for we kill in his name and then blame each other.”
I have heard extremist Jews claiming that they are fighting for G-d. I have heard them say that they are defending themselves because it is G-d’s will. I have even heard them say that they moved to or live in Israel because G-d wanted them to.
But I have never heard many Jews say that they _killed_ in G-d’s name.
Pray for the Jews and pray for the Muslims. Pray for the Christians and Druze as well. But don’t pray for the Hizbullah satanists. It’s not worth it, I am sure.
Seriously, the more I try to understand politics, the more I get confused.
Initially,I hated anyone who is American or Jewish or is an Israelite. However, through Drima’s posts and your comments,Ive come to realize my generalization is unfair and not all of you want our destruction(In case you are wondering,Im Sudanese).
Im no political savvy so I won’t comment on this topic. In the meantime,Ill sit back, watch the news, read your views n the opposing party’s views then form an objective opinion.
Last annonymous, you “come to realize my generalization is unfair”
Alhamdulillah, it’s working!
Allah yibarik feek
Halalhippie,Allah yibareek feek.
I guess we are all(or maybe some of us)are victims of our governments n the demons of media irrespective of our race or religion.
May Allah always bless us with the truth.
For all those who are pro-Israel’s invasion, pls check out this link:

Is this fair?
It is mind-boggling that Israel beseiges a whole nation just because a few of its ppl have been abducted.Israel’s reaction was/is extreme.

i bet ,after reading this shit, that if america stops caring for its interests we would just blast each other to peaces here..
god … bless this america
To my post from 6:35
The most amazing thing about the whole arguement is that it then would be followed by claims that ordinary people are just longing for peace and its only american imperialists who push them to war !!!
ha ha ha
