New York: 4 Days 3 Nights

Hey people, I’m back in Chicago. I just arrived today back from New York City. I spent my whole time in Manhatan. The 4 days I spent there could easily qualify as some of the best ever in my whole life. This thanks to a very special someone. She knows who she is. I was staying at her place on the 56th floor of the Corinthian. Great location and great views. I visited Ground Zero, Trinity Church, the UN, Wall Street, Broadway, Times Square and a bunch of other places too. Oh ya by the way New York rats are scaaaaary and huge man!

Awesome, dude

How did you manage to get into UN’s Secretary-General’s office? And did you leave a stink bomb behind you? Or at LEAST a fake dog turd in the drawer?
Heh. Great post Drima. Very creative. You’d make a brilliant fun politician. I hope one day you will sit there for real behind the nameplate of Sudan.
Nice photo’s Drima. Good to hear (and see) that you’re having the time of your life !
Take care,
Tse.
Drima,
lol its so funny that you should mention rats. The last time i was in the city it was with my girlfriend at the time. It was circa late 2000 and I was on Wall Street doing the typical walking tour. I happened to glance over my shoulder and not more than 3 feet behind me was a rat that was at least a foot long. the rat looked at me and got on his hind legs and assumed a begging position. I think he thought I was going to give him something. Lol I wonder if the NYC rats can tell a tourist just like the people can
I swear to God I had so much fun there. I don’t think it would have been as much fun if I was touring alone or with a bunch of regular friends. A special someone who holds a dear place in my heart made the experience much more lovlier and memorable. Sharing it with her was the greatest gift I could have ever wished for. Oh ya and it was her dad who has clearance to go wherever he wants in the UN building that got us into all the meeting halls (He works there). We were able to do things that visitors in a regular tour could never do. For that I’m forever thankfull to her dad who took some time off his scheduele just to show me around the place. Yaaaaaay!!
The huge and scary rat experience was at about 2am after the July 4th celebrations. It was as big as a lion and my first reaction was screaming and jumping like a monkey. It was hilarious and crazy! In a fraction of a second I went from thinking … rat?? Naa too big to be one… to… Shadow?? Naa… and finally to… OH SHIT it really IS a rat!!!
This holiday has so far been a blessing. I’m having so much fun while at the same time clearing up so many misperceptions from my head about America and the American people.
I visited New York and I LOVED it. I had heard so much about how rude the people of NY were. But, to my surprise, the people there are so nice. I can’t tell you how many times people who were rushing around stopped to ask us if we needed any help. I wouldn’t have dared to stop anyone to ask for help but they stopped on their own when they saw us studying a map or something. I was sooooo impressed with the kindness of strangers there.
…….A special someone who holds a dear place in my heart made the experience much more lovlier and memorable. Sharing it with her was the greatest gift I could have ever wished for……..
And love ? In the air ? LOL!
You don’t mind my romantic twistthinking, do you Drima?
Tse.
Drima,
my good friend–glad you enjoyed the city. The city is fun. I wish you had the chance to come upstate though. I am an Upstater and New York often gets overshadowed by the city. There are lots of nice rural areas upstate not at all dissimilar from Maine.
