Someone Please Slap Them!

by Drima on June 10, 2006

I just got sick to my stomach when I watched this latest video. I mean seriously, when is all this hatred and brain-washing going to stop?

First it was this via Sand Monkey and now it’s this?!?!!

I swear, the interviewers in both videos need a slap on their faces. They’re a bloody freaking disgrace to us. I pitty them for the hatefull, ignorant, blind, filthy and disgusting skunks they are.

Here enjoy watching it!

God! No wonder some people think we Muslims are all evil.

Arrrrrghhhh I’m SO PISSED OFF… (Ok deep breath… Calm down Drima… Yes that’s better)

Darfur Tribal Leaders Join the List of Opposers To UN Troops

by Drima on June 10, 2006

Darfur tribal leaders have now joined the list of those opposed to UN troops. One tribal elder even clearly indicated that nobody wants non-African troops on ground. I don’t blame the tribal elders for their views as many of them were alive during the time of colonialism.

This recent tribal opposition is a very strong and important development that everyone tracking the Darfur situation must be aware of and consider heavily. Previously all the talk of sending UN troops to intervene was circled around the fact that the Darfuri victims needed (and still do need) help. Now however numerous leaders of tribes whom many are victims in this conflict have declared their opposition to UN troops’ presence. I’m going to repeat what I’ve stated on this blog numerous times before. The UN and NATO should focus their time and efforts on reinforcing the current AU forces on ground. Sending in UN troops will turn Darfur into another Iraq. Most importantly though, people with “interventionist” ideas MUST stop and realize that they can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped. Yes indeed, you cannot help someone who does not want to be helped.

The Sudanese government’s opposition to UN troops has mellowed down recently, but there is no sign they might give the green light to allow them in. The problem now is that even if the government agrees, the tribal elders will also have to be convinced to change their minds. I don’t think that will be an easy task.

What’s more troubling is that extremist and retarded Zawahri has released a tape calling all Islamic militants to fight any UN troops’ presence in Darfur and as such reinforced what filthy Bin Laden has called for previously. Therefore even if the tribal elders, the Sudanese government and every Sudanese involved all change their position of opposition to UN troops in Darfur, we can definitely forget about convincing Al-Qaeda members and supporters in changing their minds. Moreover if the Sudanese government approves UN troops, they will automatically label themselves as “traitors to Islam” and slowly but surely extremist Islamic militants will creep into Darfur. This is getting more complex by the day.

“Every side is sure that the other side is out to get them.” - Raccoon

PS: To all those who base their “interventionist” ideas on a macro-analysis of the Darfur situation, please zip your mouths.

Great Job Israel!

by Drima on June 10, 2006

Seven Palestinians including 3 children died on a beach in the Gaza Strip while having what appeared to be a family picnic. Here’s the best part. They died during an Israeli shelling. Great job Israel! While I’m positively sure you guys didn’t do it on purpose, have fun convincing crazy Hamas and the Palestinian people otherwise. I’m sorry Israelis but that was one hell of a careless mistake.

Be Careful of the Means You Use

by Drima on June 9, 2006

NOTE: This post is written from a perspective of an alien on Mars viewing the rapid developments on planet earth.

The use of force to stop evil is sometimes a necessity that we all hate to see being applied. How you view an entity as evil depends on where you stand in a conflict. It is interesting yet natural seeing two opposing sides accusing each other of not adhering to the Declaration of Human Rights and the Geneva Conventions.

The means being employed in the Palestinian struggle are nothing short of sickening. Blowing up innocent Israelis on buses and in restaurants is a disgusting and vile practice that only worsens the situation.

It is also very disappointing and hypocritical seeing the West employ practices violating the Geneva Conventions and Declaration of Human Rights. The use of torture and outsourcing it is nothing short of disgusting. It should be strongly condemned by the international community and it is also the duty of every single humane person to stand against it. America must know its limits and should not engage in such practices. Moreover the prisoners locked up in Guantanamo must be put under trial as soon as possible.

Incase you didn’t notice, caution and paranoia are separated by a very thin line which seems to be getting blurrier as time passes by.

This is a message to parties involved in this conflict. Be careful of the means you use in your fight and struggle. You can either stop being hypocritical and start adhering to the Geneva Conventions and Declaration of Human Rights, or you can just take them and simply tear them into pieces.

PS: Sudan being on the UN’s Human Rights Commision is a BIG joke!!

Yippieeee! Dissident Darfur Rebels To Sign

by Drima on June 8, 2006

I just got this news via Sudan Watch. It seems the dissident rebels might have changed their minds. I’m really hoping they will sign. If they do, then it will be official that all the rebel factions have agreed by the peace agreement which will indeed be a monumental step. Even though I can’t help but be skeptical most of the time, I can honestly tell you that I see Sudan slowly progressing towards the right direction. I’m holding my breath for the official news to confirm the signing. Please sign, please sign, oh please sign…

IMPORTANT UPDATE: YIPPIEEE THEY SIGNED!! THEY FINALLY SIGNED!!

Excuse me for being so happy and hyper about this. Today I’m not in the mood to be cynical especially when the world cup is starting tonight. Zarqawi is gone but my heart goes out to his family members who opposed his cause. The rebels have all signed but it’s not a guarantee that they will infact keep their word. Nevertheless I’m going to be positive about all this. We all need to be. How can we reach the goal of peace and stability in Iraq and Sudan if we’re always so cynical?

ANOTHER UPDATE: They didn’t sign. They only committed. Sorry I misunderstoond the article in the above link. I guess my mind was thinking sign sign sign and so I read commit as sign. Apologies. Sigh!

World Cup: Don’t Boo Iranian Team

by Drima on June 8, 2006

The world cup is just 2 days away and many people are already so hyped up about it. As we all know the football team from our “beloved” Iran qualified. During the opening ceremony, the Iranian football team shouldn’t be boo-ed. I think that would be a lack of sportsmanship from the audience. During the previous Olympic games, the Sudanese team was boo-ed very loudly to show protest for the atrocities in Darfur. That was NOT nice. A friend of mine was in the olympic team, representing Sudan for tennis. He told me it was very demoralizing for him and the whole team when the crowd boo-ed.

Please people, don’t mix sports with politics. Support all teams in the world cup (especially Brazil =p). I’m sure that if Iran qualifies (slim chance) and Ahmadinejad wants to attend the finals in Germany, it will be another whole debate by itself.

AU Agrees UN Takeover, Bashir Opposes

by Drima on June 7, 2006

The AU has agreed for the UN to take over from them immediately. The Sudanese government rejected the idea saying an immediate transition cannot take place and that it must be gradual. After that however, news popped out that Sudan’s dictator Omar Hassan Al Bashir opposes UN troops in Darfur.

This is becoming an annoying rollercoaster ride. That’s why I like Iran’s president Ahmadinejad when it comes to these kind of situations. His answer is just a crazy “BAM” straight forward one most of the time. He doesn’t waste time. Bashir should just spit it out of his mouth and save us the painfully slow “clock-ticking” and rollercoaster ride.

Arab League Meeting July 26 To Discuss Darfur Relief Aid

by Drima on June 7, 2006

Now that’s what I call a head line. If this meeting does end up successfully then I would applaud it loudly and literaly for five continuous minutes until my hands swell. I hope all goes well and that for a change they act upon a major announcement such as this.

Israeli Dilemma Over The 220 Sudanese Refugees Continues

by Drima on June 7, 2006

Yes, the dilemma continues. On one hand, the argument for not accepting them is because they’re citizens of an enemy country. On the other hand, the argument for accepting them is because like the Jews they’ve also faced a genocide.

Overthrow With Good Intentions

by Drima on June 6, 2006

Looking at Sudan’s five decades history and all the coups that took place, I find something common in most of them. I think a great problem facing us the Sudanese people is controling the sometimes overwhelming anger that we feel deep inside of us as a result of the government’s crimes. It saddens me to say that almost every single Sudanese person I know would like to get rid of the current government out of anger, hatred and revenge. That is a a pattern that I see being repeated in our short history since independence. This is a wrong and dangerous attitude. If an overthrow occurs it cannot happen out of revenge and anger. It must happen out of a strong desire to lead the country and the Sudanese people as a whole towards peace and prosperity.

The rebels prove this point. I support them in principle ie. (a united democratic Sudan with equal treatment and prosperity for all). However I absolutely hate the disgusting and sickening way in which they have carried out their rebellion. The SLA who signed the peace agreement have now turned against their own people.

UN Security Council Faces Chilly Welcome In Sudan

by Drima on June 5, 2006

The welcoming of the UN Security Council in Sudan wasn’t… ehm ehm, well it wasn’t that welcoming. It’s going to be quite intense. The Security Council however did it make it clear that “they wish to work together with the Khartoum government and not against it”. I hope the Sudanese officials will cooperate well.

Meanwhile, the lovely Secretary General of the Arab League, Amr Musa advised Sudan to accept UN troops in Darfur. Thank you Amr Musa, great advice indeed but I suggest you zip your mouth and find something better to do. Oh no wait! I forgot this is what you do best isn’t it? You just simply talk and rant great words of wisdom that you yourself can’t even act upon or follow.

Darfur & The South: Part of a Zionist Conspiracy

by Drima on June 4, 2006

When the debate about Darfur is discussed in the context of natural resources, many disturbing perspectives come into the picture. The challenge for me is to spot which is conspiracy theory and which is fact. It’s not easy sometimes. The most popular argument in the Sudanese street is that Darfur and the south are part of an American and Zionist long term plan to divide Sudan and control its water resources, oil and minerals. Big question mark if you ask me!

Please though, let’s get real for a while. When anything is discussed in the context of natural resources, the debate always tends to get ugly eg: impoverished Africa, Iraq, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia etc. Don’t lie to yourselves. We all still can’t even come to an agreement on why Iraq was invaded. Oil in the short term, NO but in the long term YES. WMD’s? Maybe (if they existed). Democracy? Pleeeease… let’s get real. If true demoractic elections were held the result will be Hamas-like governments ruling the region. A combination of X and democracy? YES.

However, Sudan…? Let me say it again. It’s not easy spotting which is conspiracy theory and which is fact sometimes.. Any super power would naturally want to maintain the position of being a super power. I just hope the game is played fairly… WAIT! That’s if there is such a thing as fair.

Apart from all those “dark political forces”, I just want to live in peace and coexist with everyone peacefully. The true enemy is extremism. It is extremism and ignorance on both sides that will destroy us all. The end of the 21st century will witness a great war fought not over oil but over WATER.

Reggae Music & Zionism: Connection??!

by Drima on June 4, 2006

Is there any connection between reggae music and Zionism? I’ve been wondering about it for a while now. If a connection does exist then I’m sure it’s a very interesting one. Bob Marley does have a number of songs that refer to Zion in his lyrics.

Iron, like a lion, in Zion.

Get Up Stand Up.
some people think great God will come from the sky, take away everything and make everybody feel high… and mighty God is a living man….

There is a strong connection between reggae and Ethiopia but I’m a little blur to go explaining about it. Ethiopia also had a large Jewish population that mostly moved to Israel. I personally don’t really care if a connection does exist because I would never stop listening to Bob Marley’s music. I mean damn, it’s just too good. However if a connection does exist, I’m sure in the near future some Hamas officials will go “damn! I can’t believe I liked that bloody groovy music”.

Jews, any idea?? I’m just curious =P

UPDATE: Here is the video of the wicked song “Road To Zion” feat Nas by Damian Marely (son of Bob Marley). Check the Star of David in the famous reggae colours of red, yellow and green on Damian Marely’s sleeve towards the end of the video.
