Yes only now it’s finally hitting. I don’t get it. What’s the big deal if someone advocates condoms. Advocating them is not the equivelant of promoting premarital sex you know. It’s simply about being safe. Even if rules are enforced and extreme measures are taken, sex will still happen. Muslim and Christian religious leaders in Sudan should cool down a little. If they think it’s evil then they should at least choose the lesser of two evils. Which is better premarital BooM BooM with safety on or premarital BooM BooM with no safety helmet on and risking getting infected with scary diseases. Instead of pressuring for troops deployment, I think the UN should air drop hundreds of thousands of condoms on Sudan. That would be a better use of their time. Meanwhile let’s continue the economic and diplomatic pressure on the government.

Only NOW it’s being debated?
Only NOW it’s being debated?
Why do they have a problem with condoms?
Isn’t it kind of like having a problem with penicillin?
Sex is still considered a taboo subject in Sudan.
lol air drop hundreds of thousands of condoms on Sudan. Best set of words I’ve read all day.

Well I guess this debate happened with religious leaders all over the world before; it’s just hit Sudan a little later.
I agree, it’s better to have safe sex, but the age old debate is whether it’s encouraging MORE sex, because those who didn’t have sex before, because of FEAR of pregnancy are now able to…
So in the long run, it’s obviously better to have safe sex; but it will also increase the numbers of those choosing to have sex.
But sooner or later im sure Sudan will realise, (like every other nation) that it’s just better to have safe sex..

Viva la Sex!
Here is a question for you. If you thought that someone had AIDS, would you still have sex with them even with a condom? In my case it would be a definite no. I think the whole point is to get people to behave in a more monogamous way. It works for most Western cultures. We have a very low AIDS rate among heterosexuals in Western countries. It’s not because of condom use. Condoms are better than nothing, but they are probably not the answer to AIDS. Most African men don’t like to use them at home with their wives and they infect their wives. Condom use should be encouraged, but other methods should be considered as important. People don’t like to judge others and sex is something we in the liberal societies hate to criticise, but sex is killing people! I think that the fact that men in Africa are encouraged to take only one wife and that most can’t afford more wives is contributing to the problem. I think men would be less likely to frequent prostitutes if they still had multiple wives.
I seriously doubt how infact safe, safe-sex is. I mean condoms can only do so much. I know about 3 people who became pregnant even after having used condoms that’s like a massive minority but still. It’s like i’ve met the 1% or is it 0.something%
Besides that, condoms can only stop STDs that you get through sexual intercourse, what about oral sex and what-not. Even if you have a little cut in your mouth while you’re giving cunninglingus you can still get something, so it’s not all safe (Of course i’ve never heard of anyone giving head with a rubber on, that’s just weird).
Even with the french-cap, like Miss Carnivorous said if you know the other person has an STD or AIDS you wouldn’t wanna tap that.
I think it shows that i don;t know where i stand on this but yeah something is better than nothing, definitly advocating them is the lesser of two evils, i just hope people who use it knows how unsafe the supposed “safe-sex” is. People shouldn’t just go around telling people to have safe sex like condoms are some miracle, and use it as some excuse not to think about some bigger problems.
I’m not saying condoms aren’t useful, infact it is very useful. It’s just like having on a semi-bullet proof vest, you could still get shot in the face you know. so it’s pretty much quick-fix.
At the end of the day it’s about being a smart person and being lucky, i mean some people have sex with the whole freakin village and yet they’re STD-free and others they just get it at first go so it’s pretty random.
One thing i’m sure of is that i can’t imagine how i would live in a place where they haven’t legalised selling condoms. That’s just a world of no. I mean how hot and bothered especially people our age get, i’m sure they’d get it whichever way they can so there really shouldn’t be a debate on it, that’s really sad there is one.
” Sex is still considered a taboo subject in Sudan.” it is ? Where did all the Sudanese come from them ?
