5000 Dead In Indonesia Earthquake

by Drima on May 31, 2006

The death toll of the recent Indonesian earthquake has unfortunately reached reached 5000. I can’t imagine what the Indonesian people feel like. This is the 4th time in less than 3 years that a major natural disaster has occured to them. May the victims rest in peace.

Like before, most Muslim countries are just chilling while the “infidels” are the ones donating a big share of the aid. Thankfully some Muslim countries do care. They include Qatar and as always Malaysia. It would also do you good to know that the Jews are donating.

You know, sometimes I really really wish that the Chinese would send some monetary or supplies aid. This earthquake was in their backyard right?

Forget about people expecting the USA to donate large sums of money everyone. Every country should donate something just because it’s the nice thing to do. And when you have a lot of countries donating, I think the finances add up.

Maybe the US should cut its aid. I think other countries over rely on the west to do most of the donating. It’s like going out for shisha and dinner with a group of friends and expecting that “specific someone” to pay for everyone just because he always does. Muslim countries can complain all they want about how evil the west is but what they don’t realize is how unattached they’ve become to their own reality… If Israel is involved you’ll see the money pouring. Just look at the time spent and donations being stacked up for Hamas. Yes to the Palestinian people and no to Hamas’s tactics but what about the Muslims in Indonesia??
