Fed Up of Waiting For Those Robots

by Drima on May 27, 2006

I’m getting sick and tired of reading all the depressing news and updates on Darfur. All I’m looking forward to now besides finishing my exams, US vacation and spending a lot of studio time recording, is the start of the UN Security session in Khartoum. I’m dying to see the results and desperately wishing they’ll be positive. Meanwhile check this great post out (me highly recommends). It’s about how the misperceptions surrounding the Darfur issue are now affecting perceptions towards Afro-Arabs and Northern Africans. Thanks to all those Mr. and Mrs. “I know it all” types who are leveraging this issue by making money selling stupid biased books and self-proclaming themselves as professionals.
Aaargghh! You know, I always wonder to myself whether or not the rebels and government officials are robots. Don’t they feel any guilt for what they’ve done and continue doing??
Ya3ni 3aleek Allah biljad… Al nas deel ma3indahom ayyi dameer??!

Unfortunately, never in our modern history have we had a government with a conscience… but what I find more unfortunate is that, now, we, the people have lost the will to do anything about it.

Oi, Drima… maybe you can help me out.

I have been trying to get a moderate Muslim (i.e. one that doesn’t try to kill me on sight ;) to explain some points about Islam to me.

Namely:
Given Sura 9:29, how can Muslims coexist with non-Muslims?

Given the general attitude towards non-Muslims as demanded by the Koran, how can non-Muslims coexist with Muslims?

If you’re really interested in more details, it has been discussed in some depth, with examples, on http://onearabworld.blog.com/752754/#cmts

Thanks :)
Good luck with the exams.

Some psycholigists would say that day-to-day senseless violence can destroy the emotions in a person. Sounds like a robot to me.

I say you should focus on exams and forget the news for awhile. Too many distractions can be disasterous for performance.

Hey thanx everyone. It’s my last paper actually… International Corporate Finance… =p … I don’t really like being all “book-smart”, I’m an entrepreneur at heart and one day I’ll build a huge business empire muahahaha… (Inshallah)

Formal education, informal education, my album and music, blogging, part-time business and now blogging etc…. Gosh it’s a headache having to do so many things at the same time but the best part is living life to the fullest and doing everything you always wanted to do… You must be passionate =p

Raccoon, when interpreting verses in the Quran it’s important to know the historical context ie. when they were revealed and for what reasons… check this out…

Drima:

I have read through most of the nonsense on that site and was left unsatisfied. The relevant points have been skirted, as usual. The cheap demagoguery of Mustafa Khalil and others on submission.org… is simply not an answer. And I do not believe that such platitued should dissuade one from the quest for understanding.

For as it was said:
“All the world knows a snake from a dragon; but you cannot fool a Chen monk!”

Raccoon,

please elaborate what exactly you’re unsatisfied about and I’ll do my best to provide you the answers you seek in your quest for understanding… If you don’t want to discuss it here, you can email me…

Drima - thanks, bro. But since cognitive dissonance is making it too difficult, I think I’ll just leave it be and wallow in my dissatisfaction :)
People are stupid and pointless monkeys with a big ball of malfunctioning wiring for a thinking device. Morality is a set of subjective rules made by the monkeys to govern their overcrowded societies. It conflicts with bits and pieces of the wiring in the monkeys, causing them to do all kinds of silly things. Most of it has got to do with reproduction, pain, food and death.

The bottom line is physics. Everything is interconnected and everything affects everything. Given the probably non-linear nature of time everything affect everything that was, is, and will be. The information matrix that is YOU exists solely as a part - and therefore the whole - of all the other information matrixes. See Buddha on duality. See Lao Tze on same. See quantuum physics.

Drima, I saw your comment in another blog - you are a music freak. Why don’t you link to some nice music in your blog? Or is it here and can’t I just find it?

Be well and take care
Tse.

Not sure about the rebels, but more often than not, government officials ARE robots.

10 Drima 05.30.06 at 11:56 am

I HATE ROBOTS… =p

Tsedek, I’m still in the process of completing my album… I’ll defintely put a link in the future.
