Turabi Calls for Uprising

by Drima on May 19, 2006

Yeah, Turabi is back in business with his usual attention seeking rants. He’s now officially calling for an uprising against Omar Al-Bashir’s government. I’m a little worried frankly because this man’s appeal is growing by the day even though he was labeled an apostate by Sudanese Muslim scholars recently. Nobody should underestimate him because believe me he’s up to something… something big. He was the one supporting the Darfur rebels and inciting them. Furthermore my dear American readers, he’s the one who protected Osama Bin Laden and harbored him in Sudan. Omar Al-Bashir was the one who kicked him out of the country. If you ask me to choose between the two, I would defintely choose Omar Al-Bashir because he is the lesser of two evils.

Turabi:

قال: أين شباب هذا البلد وقواعده.. ومن سيعالج قضيتكم؟

Translation: Where are the youth of this country and thier principles.. and who will solve your case?

Yeah sure… Our principles huh? Where are yours and where have they been all the past years when Sudan’s youth were dying in a war you helped start? Where were your principles when you helped start the Darfur conflict even though you were aware of the devastation it was going to cause? Hell you’re doing your best to use any means necessary to take over the country aren’t you?

“The regime will not fall “unless the people will replace it - not to the benefit of any regime or party, but to the benefit of all,” al-Turabi told reporters yesterday”

To the benefit of all or your benefit??! Benefit of all my foot!
